Everyone had a great time at the Hill House Museum Mardi Gras Tea on Saturday. There were games, music, prizes, and fun was had by all! The costumes were creative and looked amazing. The tea was "spot-on" and the food robust!
Fat Tuesday is coming, and it was fun having an early start to the Mardi Gras festivities.
The Hill House Museum will be a tour stop during Historic Garden Week on Saturday, April 18th, 10:00-4:30. The Franklin Garden Club will be decorating the Museum and the group stopped by this week to start planning for the event.
The Hill House will be closed for public tours until May 2020. The few months we are closed allows the staff to do some restoration work and prepare for future events/exhibits. Thanks to everyone who helped make 2019 a great year for the Hill House Museum. While closed we still do private tours and events including our Mardi Gras Tea in February (will be advertised soon). Call or email if you have questions.
Family still in town and looking for something to do on this warm Saturday or Sunday???? The Hill House Museum will be open noon-3:00 for visitors to tour the toy exhibit. The Museum is filled with toys from your past. Your family or just yourself will love it, and it will conjure memories from your childhood.

Congrats to the Hill House Museum Toy Raffle basket winner!! He picked up his prize today, and he was super excited to see what was in the basket.

On Saturday the Hill House Museum hosted its' annual Holiday Tea. Not only did guests enjoy the delightful festive tea, but they had the opportunity to tour the antique toy exhibit. As you can see from the attached pictures everyone had a great time. Thanks to all our docents and volunteers who gave up their time, during this busy time of the year, and helped make sure all guests had an enjoyable visit.

The Hill House is always amazing - but with all the vintage decorations and toys it's even more wonderful. Stop by on Wednesday, Friday, or Saturday from 12 - 3 pm through December 21! Admission is still only $5.

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas at the Hill House Museum. This beautiful holiday wreath is made from the Hill House garden's boxwoods and other greens from Cedar Grove Cemetery where the Hill Family is buried.. Thank you Jo Perakes for making the wreath, and Barbara Early for your generous donation from the cemetery.
